The Yachou Axe
The Yachou Axe is one of the prized treasures of the Shandong Museum, a bronze ritual vessel from the Shang Dynasty. The object features a majestic facial structure with plump features, round eyes, and slightly upturned corners of the mouth revealing teeth resembling a city wall, creating a unique contrast between fierceness and cuteness. It has been named by netizens as the "cutest emoji face among cultural relics." Its iconic image has been adapted into plush eye masks, trendy crossbody bags, and various other cultural creative products, gaining significant popularity among young people.
Xi Zun
Xi Zun (the Gold and Silver Inlaid Bronze Ritual Zun) is now preserved at the Qi Culture Museum in Zibo, Shandong Province. It was a wine vessel used by the ancient State of Qi during the Warring States Period. Shaped like an ox, its entire body is inlaid with gold and silver threads forming flowing cloud patterns, representing the pinnacle of the ancient gold and silver inlay craftsmanship. It is truly a work of art that could be called the original "steampunk" piece. Today it has also been turned into a cultural creative ice cream, allowing you to appreciate the ancient charm while tasting a bite of culture.
